My philosophy

what drives me and how i approach leadership

I believe progress comes from trying—fully, often, and without fear of failure. Every attempt teaches you something, even when it doesn’t work out. You gain experience, perspective, confidence, or clarity. You never truly lose. Without that mindset, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Leadership, to me, isn’t about titles or positions. It’s about taking initiative when something is missing and leaving things better than you found them. Throughout high school, I founded organizations not to build a résumé, but because I saw gaps that needed filling. Whether it was improving financial literacy through The High School Capitalist, preserving culture through BYSS, or encouraging civic engagement through Oshawa Young Liberals, each project started with the same belief: if something matters, it’s worth trying to build.

my approach is simple: serve first, lead second. mentoring peers, organizing events, running workshops—these aren't just activities to me. they're investments in the people around me. when i see someone succeed because of something i helped create or teach, that's what drives me to keep building.

I’ve learned that impact isn’t created in one big moment. It comes from consistency—showing up, helping out, and caring enough to follow through. Whether that meant tutoring in ESL classrooms, coaching volleyball, or staying late after meetings to clean up, those small choices compound over time.

As I move into university and beyond, I carry this philosophy with me: try relentlessly, build with purpose, and serve without ego. Growth comes from action, and success isn’t measured by what you accomplish alone, but by how many people move forward because you chose to try.

🎯

purpose-driven

every project starts with a question: who does this serve and how does it help?

🤝

service first

leadership means creating opportunities for others, not building monuments to yourself.

📈

consistent growth

small actions compound. show up every day and trust the process.

🌍

community impact

leave every space better than you found it—schools, communities, organizations.
